The house to myself

So since last Thursday, both of my housemates have left to go visit their families over the break until University starts again. Although I ended up visiting some of my family and staying with my grandmother last night, I have opted to stay here for the entire break.

This is my first real experience when it comes to living on my own, with no one around to help you if needed or keep your sanity in check. So far, so good. I have enjoyed things so far. Things are nice and quiet when I want them to be, and I can do things without worrying about protests from my housemates (about things like loud music). I do in some ways miss them being around so I know that they are there, but things have been kind of fun since they departed. It is nice to have some time to yourself, you know? Being on my own has some more positives as well. Like… I can sing when I want! 😛 It also gives me the opportunity to clean the kitchen and hallways without people adding mess to it again! I plan on going through it all sometime this week. Other than that, I have stuck to my usual activity cycle – going for walks and some studying. I have also spent a lot more time playing games with friends from other countries, since this is the time when I can afford to relax a little and stop concentrating as much.

As for Christmas, I do not really celebrate it. I had a few gifts, but that is all. Which is fine. Most of my family does not bother celebrating either. Personally, I had a few ideas for gift giving as well. But the lack of money this term put an end to that plan. Something I did on Christmas Eve that I did enjoy was going out to play bingo with my mother and grandmother! I did not win anything, but it was nice to do something different.

A gift from my mother! #Trek4Life

Anyway, Merry Christmas everyone! I hope you have a good day! 🙂
